Too much dependency on oil is detrimental to any economy and therefore India needs to set and achieve high targets in green energy. According to the National Action Plan on Climate Change, the country needs to generate between 10 to 15% of its power from renewable sources such as wind, solar and hydro power. The Union Budget presented on 28 February, 2015, however, does not appear to have a concrete roadmap for this capacity creation to happen.
